1985 pink
Specialized Team Stumpjumper
The iconic pink team Stumpjumper, the first production 'Team' racing mountain bike. Made from Tange double-butted Prestige tubing, it came with Shimano's original Deore group. This one's been completely upgraded.
Jim Merz, who was a framebuilder at Specialized and built the originals, filled me in on a couple of details, this bike is from the first batch and had narrower chainstays, so it was limited to 26x 1.95 tires. The later versions took wider MTB tires.
As you see it here, the bike weighs 23 lbs. Contact us for details.

We found it locked in a basement, collecting spiders and cobwebs since the Reagan years. It was a bit overweight but we told it we believed... and here at the Spring Debutante Ball if you are an upstanding citizen it might go home with you.
We totally overhauled this beauty. There is nothing on this bike from it's previous life, and yet it's as glowing as the day it came out of the box.
It may look whimsical but underneath it's VERY serious with high-quality parts all around.
We built it a custom wheelset: Velocity baby blue aero rims, chrome spokes, new Shimano hubs, brand new Kenda 700x38c tires.
An enitrely new or upgraded 16-speed drivetrain. Profile cranks, new chain, Shimano 105 rear derailler, Shimano LX front. New 11-34 8-speed cassette, new grip shifters, new Tektro brake levers and brakes, and new grips and upright bars.
The bike is perfect if you're short (4'8"-5'6") since the top tube combined with the cruiser bars makes it more upright and comfortable.
This is a one of a kind bike. There are no others.
Come take it for a test ride, you might leave with a new bike and a smile.
